Here at Noble RV, we simply call him "H" to avoid any confusion with our own famous Chris Yearling in sales. Before joining us in March of 2008, "H" accumulated several years of experience in the RV industry. Starting in 1976, he was in sales with an RV, mobile home, snowmobile, and marine distribution warehouse in the Twin Cities. He then invested in his own RV business, RV Specialties and Marine, in Spring Lake Park, MN. "H" then became parts manager for a large RV dealership in the metro area. Now, he is our very own knowledgeable and valued parts manager. "H" will go the extra mile with each and every customer that comes in. With a very extensive RV background, he can tell you pretty much everything there is to know about an RV.
"H" lives in Cottage Grove, MN with his wife, Patty, and 2 daughters, Afton and Ashley. During his spare time, he enjoys snowmobiling and watching baseball. He loves being outdoors, and that is why he loves the RV industry.

Tip of the Month
Calculating Propane Usage
(This information is provided by Mark Polk in his blog on rv.net)
Have you ever made a trip in your RV and wondered if you would have enough propane in the tanks to last the whole weekend? Fortunately, there is a way to roughly calculate how much propane you will need and if you can make that trip without getting cold in the middle of the night.
First, you need to know the capacity of your LP tanks either in gallons or pounds (for reference, there are approximately 4.2 pounds of propane per gallon. Also, LP tanks are only filled to 80% of capacity to safely allow for expansion of the propane). With that number, you can then calculate the BTU capacity by multiplying the tank capacity by one of the following numbers:
- BTUs per gallon = 91,502
- BTUs per pound = 21,548
Next, you need to calculate the BTU demand of the appliances in your RV by checking the details on each appliance or looking at the owner's manuals. Once you have all the numbers, it's time to do some math. By the way, BTU's are calculated per hour, so the number you end up with is a total expected number of hours of use.
(Tank Capacity) x (BTU #) / (BTU demand) = Hours of enjoyment
For example, let's say you have a 30 pound tank, and you're just concerned about your 35,000 BTU furnace.
(30 pounds x 80%) x (21,548) / (35,000) = about 14 3/4 hours of running the furnace at 100%
Assuming that the furnace only runs 1/3 of the time, then you would have a little over 44 hours of warmth.
Of course, there are other factors to consider such as water heater usage and the outdoor temperature, but hopefully this gives you a rough idea of what to expect.
